Welcome
Welcome to HOPs Musical Theatre Company, Harrogate’s longest-running and most vibrant musical theatre society. At HOPs, we are celebrating over a century of unforgettable performances since our first show in 1924. Today, we’re proud to bring world-class stage musicals to our community. At our core, HOPs is a community-driven organisation, promoting creativity and collaboration. Whether you're an actor, singer, dancer, crew, or musical enthusiast, you’ll find a supportive and welcoming space to thrive. As a registered charity (Charity no. 1194455), we reinvest every penny into our productions and outreach across Harrogate and beyond. Join us in bringing people together through the power of live performance. HOPs exists to bring people together: on stage, behind the scenes, and beyond.
Meet the Team
HOPs Musical Theatre Company is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers, led by Chairperson Richard Lill. The committee is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the organisation, making key decisions about productions, finances, governance, and membership. Their purpose is to ensure HOPs continues to thrive artistically and sustainably: supporting both the creative vision whilst keeping the community values at the heart of all decisions.

A Message from The Chair
As Chairperson of HOPs, I’m incredibly proud to lead a society with such a rich history and vibrant future. Every production is the result of passionate teamwork, from our talented casts and crews to our dedicated volunteers and loyal audiences. HOPs is more than just a theatre company; it’s a creative home and a supportive community. Whether you’re stepping into the spotlight, helping behind the scenes, or simply enjoying a night out at the theatre, you are part of something special.
