At HOPs, community is at the heart of everything we do. As a registered charity, we are proud to combine our love of theatre with a commitment to making a difference, on stage and beyond.

Each year, our society selects a charity, or charities, to support across local, regional or national levels. For the 2024–25 season, we are proud to be supporting:

Mind in Harrogate: championing mental health and wellbeing in our immediate community.
Open Country: improving access to the countryside for people with disabilities.
Alzheimer’s Society: leading the fight against dementia across the UK.

Through initiatives such as coffee mornings, quiz nights, marathon swims, running events and raffles, our members, audiences, and supporters have raised both awareness and vital funds. It’s our way of giving back while staying connected with the causes that matter most.
